The Annual Meeting is more than a recap. It’s a moment to recognize our collective progress, share future priorities, and continue building the momentum that keeps Highway 23 projects moving forward. As we work together to improve safety, access, and efficiency along the corridor, the Annual Meeting serves as a gathering point for those who make this mission possible.
We’ll take a look back at achievements from the past year, highlight priority projects for the year ahead, and honor the businesses, communities, and individuals who are essential to this work.
Featuring Keynote Speaker: Minnesota Speaker of the House, Representative Lisa Demuth
We are proud to announce Speaker Lisa Demuth as our featured keynote speaker at the 2025 Annual Meeting.
Elected in 2018, Speaker Lisa Demuth is a long-time resident of Cold Spring in District 13A. She and her husband, Nick, have four children and seven grandchildren.
Speaker Demuth is a small-business owner who is dedicated to serving her community. Before joining the legislature, she was a ROCORI School Board member for 11 years.
Speaker Demuth is currently serving in her fourth term in the House. In 2022, she was elected by her colleagues to serve as the House Minority Leader. Under her leadership in the 2024 elections, House Republicans held every current seat and flipped three more. In February, she was elected to serve as Speaker of the House. She is the first black lawmaker and first Republican woman to serve as Speaker.
During the 2025 session, Speaker Demuth worked closely with Speaker-Emerita Melissa Hortman to deliver a bipartisan state budget that delivered the largest reduction in state spending in Minnesota history while ensuring Minnesota remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Her leadership and connection to the region make her a meaningful and timely voice as we continue advocating for transportation improvements along Highway 23.
